Abstract:The trend variation in September-November rainfall fields for 1948~2001 is inv estigated using the data of global land monthly data PREC/L created by Chen et a l.(2001).The results show that the mean precipitation is reduced over about two third of the global land and is increased over the others in the period of 1948 ~2001.The differences between positive and negative trend area are significant f rom Monte Carlo test. The rainfall of six regions (about two third of the global land)is decreased. The mainly regions are tropic Africa,Northwest of Russia, east of China,South Asian and Southeastern Asia,Welks land of Antarctica,in the north of Greenland.Only one third of global land experienced increase of precipitatio n.The mainly locations are in the north of Canada,in the Southwestern America an d north of the Mexico,Argentina in the South America,South Africa, south of Botsw ana.The trend va riations of the rainfall averaged over each of the 36 Latitude Zones are also ex amined and show that the trend coefficients of 8 latitude zones are significant a t 95 % of confidence level. The causes of the trend variation of the rainfall are globally preliminary investigated.
