Abstract:Temporal and spatial distribution features of th e annual precipitaion and its anomaly over Qinghai-Xizang Plateau are analyzed with the use of precip it ation data in the near 34 years from 80 stations there in combination with those methods such as EOF, REOF, linear trend analysis of climatic trend and cumulati ve average deviation, etc. The results show that cumulative variance contributio n of the first three load vector quantities from EOF resolution accounts for 44. 9 percent of the totol. Plateau orographic effects, especially the effects of it s obstruction and lifting of the main plateau body, are remarkable on the spatial changes of the annual precipitation. During its slow decreasing changes with th e time two jump changes of the annual precipittion occurred in 1 982 and 1989 respect ively. Also the changes spanned three stages as decreasing, increasing a little and a second decreasing. All spatial anomaly types of the annual precipitation o ver the plateau can be classified into five areas, such as in the center and eas t, in the south, in the north, in the plateau hinterland, and in the southwest o f Xizang, and that the dominating influence of the relief and the low eddy are c omparatively marked on this kind of classification.
