In early 2005,the parallel computations for three models: MM5,WRF,GRAPES are realized on IBMP690 in Anhui Province.The parallel acceleration-rate and efficiency are tested. The result shows that the three models can finish 36~72hour forecast within 1 hours using 8,16,24 CPUs respectively.The parallel efficiency is about 65%, which can meet the operational need and make good use of computational resource.With the CPU number increasing,the computational time for GRAPES shrinks fastest compared to the others,and its mean parallel efficiency is also the highest.
