The characteristics of infrared and near infrared channel data in geostationary satellite have been used to generate the bottom image of infrared brightness temperature and infrared subtract near infrared brightness temperature. Then these bottom image and the method of resemblance in time and space are able to correct the results and achieve the goal of using different thresholds in cloud detection. The detection results showed that the infrared bottom image is very effective on detection of high and medium height cloud, and the bottom image of infrared subtract near infrared brightness temperature is very effective on detection of low height cloud. Using method of resemblance in time and space can correct the cloud detection result. This algorithm got a good result.
