Abstract:Through contrastive analysis of the radar products, such as radar echo intensity, VWP product, average vertical velocity and so on, with the conventional meteorology products, such as meteorological sounding data etc as well as lightning data in Nanjings six thunderstorm process in 2009, we found that the VWP product has a good instruction for the atmospheric humidity condition in the thunderstorm process, the initial destruction of ND area is often earlier than the lightning occurrence in the thunderstorm. The lightning mainly occurs after the radar maximum echo top breaks through 9km, in addition, in comparison with the lightning peak value, the maximum echo top is 12 minutes ahead of time. In the radar vertical velocity chart the lightning will increase suddenly after presence of strong ascending center in a short time.
