Abstract:Using the conventional weather data, the conventional ground observation data, Jiangxi WebGis radar composite image and the lighting data, we analyzed 22 strong lighting processes happened in Jiangxi during 2014-2016. The results indicate that strong lighting processes always start in the area of northern Jiangxi, or near Nanchang, or in Shangrao, or western Ji'an. The synoptic background of strong lighting weather presents as near the edge of subtropical high, or under the control of subtropical high, or along with vortex and variant or by typhoon periphery. The most striking feature is that there is dry and cold air at the middle or high level intruding into the wet and warm air at the bottom. Multinomial convection indexes can predict the possibility of strong lighting weather. Radar echo is closely related to lighting intensity, and the echo type is mainly zonal and blocky. The lighting intensity is well corresponding with the radar echo intensity, but conversely not. The radar echo of strong lighting is often over 50dBz, with certain area of central densification, and distribute in the edge of radar echo with big gradient.
