利用1945-2018年美國(guó)聯(lián)合臺(tái)風(fēng)警報(bào)中心JTWC臺(tái)風(fēng)最佳路徑資料,定義并系統(tǒng)分析了西北太平洋多臺(tái)風(fēng)事件時(shí)空分布?xì)夂蛱卣骱涂赡苄纬蓹C(jī)制。結(jié)果表明:西北太平洋多臺(tái)風(fēng)事件(MTYE)主要發(fā)生在7-10月,其生成源地關(guān)鍵區(qū)位于西北太平洋135°~180°E的12°N附近。相對(duì)于單獨(dú)發(fā)生的臺(tái)風(fēng),多臺(tái)風(fēng)事件的臺(tái)風(fēng)平均強(qiáng)度更強(qiáng)、生命期更長(zhǎng)。多臺(tái)風(fēng)事件的臺(tái)風(fēng)頻數(shù)占總臺(tái)風(fēng)頻數(shù)的比例以年際變率為主,并有一定的增長(zhǎng)趨勢(shì)。多臺(tái)風(fēng)事件強(qiáng)年對(duì)應(yīng)于中東太平洋熱帶和北半球副熱帶海溫顯著增暖,通過(guò)Gill型Rossby波響應(yīng)和Walker環(huán)流異常,在西北太平洋產(chǎn)生大氣低層相對(duì)渦度正異常、中層相對(duì)濕度正異常和垂直東風(fēng)切變異常,為多臺(tái)風(fēng)的生成提供了重要的氣候背景,季節(jié)內(nèi)多時(shí)間尺度瞬變渦旋動(dòng)能的增強(qiáng)也有重要貢獻(xiàn)。

Abstract:

The best-track dataset from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) during 1945 to 2018 was used to define and analyze the temporal-spatial distribution characteristics and the possible mechanisms of the western North Pacific Multiple Typhoon Event (MTYE). Results show that MTYE mainly occurs during July to October, and its major genesis location is around 12°N between 135°-180°E over the western North Pacific. Compared to those typhoons occurring individually, the typhoons in MTYE have much larger intensity and longer lifetime. The ratio of typhoon frequency in MTYE to the total mainly shows interannual variability with certain increasing trend. In the MTYE active year, the warming in sea surface temperature is greatly significant in the mid-eastern tropical Pacific and subtropical Pacific in northern hemisphere, which generate Gill-type Rossby wave response and anomalous Walker circulation, and produce low-level positive relative vorticity anomaly, mid-level positive relative humidity anomaly and easterly vertical shear anomaly in turn, providing essential background state for MTYE genesis. Besides, enhancements of eddy kinetic energy at multiple sub-seasonal time scales also have important contributions to the MTYE.
